CHIPS Alliance at the DAC 2026 Open Source EDA Birds-of-a-Feather Session

CHIPS Alliance will participate in the “Open-Source EDA, Data and Collaboration” Birds-of-a-Feather session at DAC 2026 on Tuesday, July 28, at the Long Beach Convention Center.

The seventh in a series that began at DAC 2018, the BoF will bring together academic researchers, industry practitioners, and open source maintainers for rapid-fire presentations, dedicated Q&A panels, and networking opportunities. The broader program will cover AI-assisted EDA, open source ecosystem governance, robust PDK development, open source AMS design flows, benchmarking, industrial usage, and workforce development.

Michael Gielda, VP of Business Development at Antmicro and Chair of the CHIPS Alliance Marketing Committee, will present “Open Silicon in Action: What’s New from CHIPS Alliance” as part of General Updates from the Community (6:40 PM). He will cover new members and developments across the SV Tools Project, OpenPRoT, Caliptra RoT, DCLS in the RISC-V VeeR core, the I3C Host Controller, and more.

Krzysztof Bieganski, Engineering Manager at Antmicro, will present “Four-State Logic and Verification Support in Verilator” as part of AI-Assisted EDA and Physical Design Workflows (7:50 PM). The presentation will discuss efforts toward four-state logic in Verilator, improvements in UVM compatibility, and other developments in the CHIPS Alliance SV Tools Project.

The BoF runs from 6:30–9:30 PM in Meeting Room 104C. Admission is free, but attendees must obtain a DAC 2026 badge in advance to access the meeting room.
